Yearbook Photo Submission
There are several ways to submit photos to the Yearbook Staff. It is our goal that all the children in this school are featured!
EASIEST: We now accept photos to a dedicated email account, [email protected], so you can send photos as you take them. Cool, huh? Please be mindful that the photos you submit are the one-to-five best photos of that event so that the account doesn't get full of non-useable photos. (Please read Photo Tips section) Also, it is important that you put the event and teacher's name in the "subject" bar or we won't be able to place them on the correct page(s) and, therefore, most likely won't be able to use them. If the photos are of and event, or on the playground where students from multiple classes are represented in the photo, please include that information too. Great group shots are candidates for the cover of the Yearbook!
ADVANCED (not available until Aug.2012): Another way to submit photos is by uploading them to ___. You will need to type in ___ as the username and ___ as the password, then click on "upload." The photos will need to have captions in order to identify final use or they won't make it into the yearbook.
OPTION: Lastly, as before, you may still copy your photos onto a CD and submit them to the library. Make sure you label the CD with the teacher and your name (if there are questions re:contents), and please put photos from different events into separate folders on the CD. Photos from phones are less likely to be used as they are lower in resolution and would have to be very small. If you have a good one, however, it could potentially be placed in collage pages like "First Day of School."

Photo Tips
Here are some tips to make sure your photos are great candidates for the Yearbook.
1) CloseUps! Fill the picture with faces, not a lot of background. Use your zoom! If it's a group shot, get them as close as they will tolerate... even cheek-to-cheek!
2) Keep the file size large, please! Phone photos may make tiny little pictures that might not be useable for print.
3) Keep track of the event and the classroom, save them to CD(s) per classroom, and take them to the library to store in classroom folders until they are uploaded. You may also take your camera/camera cards directly to the library to upload your photos. (There will also be an online upload option available after Aug. 2012.)
4) If the photos you've taken are event related and not classroom related so that there are children/parents from multiple classes represented, please write the event on, and save them to, a separate CD. (ie. playground, fall carnival, book fair, swamp stomp, LR marathon, etc.)
5) Outside close-ups, esp. of a group, are great for the cover... fyi!!
